The BBC tell us a tale of a plate of bananas that appears on a street in Beeston once a month. Why do you think they are appearing? Tell us the backstory to the bananas.

@creating #tdc4780 #ds106 Oh ye of Beeston, Nottinghamshire are being offered an invitation by the mysterious and curious George.

For those crying that it is gross, "It's so strange and disgusting, someone puts it there, and I don't like it."

George is sending you call to making most of food and not discarding– from mushy old bananas you make bread.

Joy's recipe makes it so simple a dog can make bread. Get with it Beeston! Make Bread! https://cooked.wiki/saved/c8a9e789-c7b9-4eda-80ab-606a4e7760d2

Who else loves bananas? Monkeys. I think it's only reasonable to assume that there is a rogue band of primates living in the shrubbery of Beeston that one heroic citizen is trying to catch! Perhaps the monkeys are just smart enough to know that if they go for the bananas, they'll certainly be sent back to whatever zoo they escaped from.

@creating #tdc4780 The bananas are actually a secret code for an underground resistance movement—unpeeled means "stay hidden," peeled means "the revolution starts at dawn." Possibly, monkeys taking over?

Animals are mentally evolving. The same way we leave food out for birds and squirrels in a feeder so we can watch them, animals are now leaving a plate of bananas out for people so they can observe us!

@creating #tdc4780 #ds106 The plate of bananas for today's #tdc is most definitely a skit for the comedy show Impractical Jokers. They're probably watching and have cameras around waiting for someone to interact. Maybe it's a lure for Joe Gatto (an icon of the show) to come back. Only one way to find out…

@creating #tdc4780 Dr. Drakken has it as bait for Ron Stoppable's naked mole rat, Rufus. He's hoping that they will fall for the booby trap. Unfortunately for Dr. Drakken, it is unclear as to whether or not this chosen course is of interest to Rufus.
