Tom Gauld produces intricate, funny, crazy comics — mostly in the fields of science and books — but his picture book — The Little Wooden Robot And The Log Princess — is lovely on many levels (it’s about two siblings — the robot and the log — helping each other).

There are two full pages in the book about “other adventures” taken by the characters. Gauld has also turned those two colorful pages into coloring pages (see above). You can also download just the robot page or just the princess page.

For today, choose one of the adventures of the robot or the princess and write a small story, or poem, or whatever your fancy is. Maybe you want to color the page. This link will bring you there.
