Meet and Illustrate or Make Use of the Ipsums

What? Surely you know about Lorem ipsum the Latin phrase used often as placeholder text by designers. But it’s a bit… dated. That’s why you should Meet the Ipsums: a site that offers links to many thematic ones where you can generate your own “sed do eiuusmod empor”.

One of the featured Ipsums, cat flavored random text

Your task today is to explore one of the Ipsums  and find a phrase you might illustrate to depict it’s message. Or maybe you can use text and send/text it to a friend, and see how the respond. Maybe use it to respond to one of those ridiculous survey requests that fill your inbox.

Mostly, just have fun looking at them. I can almost bet one day you might find a need for some fun random text, and the Ipsums are here for you.

Me? I am linking today the Cheeseburger Ipsum

Epic cheeseburgers come in all kinds of manifestations, but we want them in and around our mouth no matter what. Slide those smashed patties with the gently caramelized meat fat between a toasted brioche bun and pass it over. You fall in love with the cheeseburger itself but the journey ain’t half bad either.

They’re the childhood friend that knows your highest highs and lowest lows. They’ve been with you through thick and thin and they’re the best at keeping secrets. Whether it’s dressed up or informal, cheeseburgers have your back.

Sometimes we lose sight of what really matters in life. There’s something to be said for a gourmet brie and truffle burger paired with parmesan frites, but don’t let that make you forget about the ol’ faithful with American cheddar and a squishy bun. Lettuce remind you that cheeseburgers come in all forms – bun intended.

But wait there’s more! I figured out how to build my own ones! Here is a bicycle ipsum made from trail descriptions and another one spun from random phrases in Creative Commons licenses. Have fun, build your own from my starter kit.
