Tucked inside the band They Might Be Giants acclaimed album Apollo 18 is a strange min-album of sorts called Fingertips. It’s composed of 21 tracks of snippets of songs. Each runs for less than a minute and most are just a few seconds long.
Take one of those Fingertips (either by just reading the song titles — see below — or by listening to the music video that integrates all of the 21 fingertips — above — or both. A visit to the Wikipedia page might be helpful, perhaps. If you really want to go deep, listen to the Strong Songs podcast about the mini-album of song snippets) and make art.
Draw the song. Write the story. Make a musical response. You decide.
