Today is Friday 13th, and superstition has it that it would be really unlucky not to do the daily create today. But why is Friday 13th considered to be unlucky? Make up a myth about why and share it with us. Wikipedia has some ideas.

I got sidetracked on this prompt because every time Friday the 13th comes around, all I can think about is THE Friday the 13th that was the start of our school lock-down in the start of the Covid Pandemic. That will be forever etched on my memory. I still remember the kids that afternoon, lined up to leave as we were just starting to get the news from the forever changed world. Later, I wrote this poem about returning to the empty classroom.

On the 1st ol' Ted had a thirst
& on the 2nd he founds some bills
The 3rd rolled around & he was lookin for thrills
On the 4th ted drank some money & lay on the floor
On the 5th & 6th, Ted was a sleepin
On the 7th out he went a creepin
On the 8th through the 10th he was nowhere to be found
But on the 11th Ted came back around
On the 12 he still had a buck
and on a Friday, that was also the 13th, Ted ran out of luck.
And like Ted, on the 13th, that is all we knew.
